Sights to See, Treats to Taste

I recently bought this book, Let's Go Europe 2011: The Student Travel Guide. Within the chapter on Belgium, I found many attractions and eateries that I think our group should visit on our trip!

Sights
1. Marolles flea market - the biggest flea market in Brussels, opens at 7am with best deals going down early on, cash only.

2. rue Neuve - central shopping district filled with clothing outlets and fast food

3. Manneken Pis - statue of a little boy peeing into a pond, one of Brussels' most famous monuments, suggested to talk to the souvenir vendor directly in front of the sight because "he's been there for over 20 years and has some interesting stories to tell."

4. Musée du Cacao et du Chocolat - chocolate museum by the founders of Godiva chocolate, costs 5.50 Euros

Food
1. Friterie Tabora - the most famous place to get frites, "Tabora will double fry your frites and douse them in a sauce of your choice..."

2. The Brewer's House - offers a tour, history of beers, and free samples!

3. Publico - has a menú of classic Belgian dishes with vegetarian options for the vegetarian in our group! :)

4. Antoine's - Brussel's oldest friterie, uses the city's oldest recipe and serves some of the biggest portions

5. Bonnefooi - bar open every night until 8am

6. Delirium - "Delirium is the number one stop for anyone visiting Brussels; expect to be drinking among fellow tourists, but this is the bar that anyone will recommend. The bar has over 2000 beers on tap, and you can ask your knowledgeable server to bring you their favorite for a real taste of Belgium. The bar is packed nightly with students, so you'll need to shout to be heard and use hand gestures to order."
